"The Matrix" is quite possibly the year's best movie. The first time I
saw this I knew it was a classic. There has not been any other movies
that leave you thinking this much afterwards. I believe that a sequel
will ruin this movie because it is so original and so action-packed a
sequel would take away the effect of this movie. Although it would be
great to see Keanu Reeves kick some agent butt again! If there is a
seqel, it definitly will not surpass the first.

IT WOULD BE COOL IF NEO FOUND OUT HE REALLY WASN'T THE ONE. TRINITY
IS
"THE ONE". IT WAS SHE THAT MADE IT ALL POSSIBLE. I SHE HAD NOT BELIEVED
HE
WAS THE ONE AND TOLD NEO SHE LOVED HIM HE WOULD HAVE DIED. NEO TURNS OUT
TO
BE JUST AN ELITE. STILL WAITING. TRINITY KILLS THE AGENTS AND STARTS
TEACHING HUMANS ABOUT THE MATRIX. SHE BECOMES THE NEW ORACLE AND NEO
DIES OF
OLD AGE.
****100 YEARS
LATER****
NEO'S DONE WAITING AND IS TRULY THE ULTIMATE ONE, FAR SURPASING TRIN
IN
POWER. HE COMANDS ALL LIFE FORCES AND DESTROYS THE MATRIX WHILE SAVING
HUMANITY FROM THE REAPERS.
A NEW AGENT THAT IS INDESTRUCTIBLE.

Re: Anthony Cooper's Matrix II Idea
That's utter crap. Neo is the chosen one only within the Matrix without
it he will cease to be as powerful as he could be. That's the HUGE
problem with the possibility of a sequel it couldn't possibly occur that
he liberated everyone, that would mean a totally abandoned Matrix and
alot of humans would die because their brains wouldn't accept the
possibility of "A Real World". You need to REALLY watch the film in
order to understand sequel possibilities. The only way Neo could save
humanity is, exactly what Morpheus said, change the Matrix as he sees
fit and take control and allow humans to live within the Matrix, forcing
the Agents' powers to be nullified.

At the end of Matrix one, Neo comes on
very meak and sounds like he wants to negotiate.
This is because the Artificial Intelligence
threatens to kill millions of innocents in
their sleep if Neo attacks them.
The entire movie has a religious overtone
with characters like "trinity(holy?)"
and "the chosen one" and "the Oracle
(the prophet)"
Keeping with this assumption, the "Chosen one"
must sacrifice himself so that those who
are sleeping will awaken.
Just as Chritianity shook the great Roman
Empire, Neo's cause will find allies within
the A.I. who will help him enter the
very core of the system and confront the
"legions" like Mr. Smith who wanted to
ruthlessly oppress the humans.
Seeing the humans as not only uncontrollable
but now also a leathal thereat, with Neo
able to manipulate the matrix, the machines
see logic in negotiating.
While Neo is negotiating with the machines,
the residents of Zion find their "Barrabus"
and plan to make an assault on the A.I.
dispite Morpheus' plea to give Neo a chance
to get the A.I. to voluntarily free the
pods of humans.
Neo penetrates the A.I. and forces them to
experience the true human condition
(like a vulcan mind meld) and the
human "will", which can never be oppressed.
They merge and an new begining is formed with
the hybrid of human and machine.
Neo is dead, but in death he is more than he was.
Because of his sacrifice, the human race is
transformed and born again.
Similar to the Christian tale.

Now that the agents are out of the way and the war is finished, there
are only the people left to liberate from the matrix. But the real
world is, as we all no, a garbage dump. There is a huge split between
people whether to liberate themselves from the matrix, or stay in the
program. By staying in the program they will be happier and better off.
So the directors would probably take the movie from there and the
conflict in the end is between people. By the end of the movie,
humanity is war torn and the matrix is able to take over. This will
lead to the third film. That's my scoop.

Okay, since in the first movie it was said that the centennials were
the gate keepers, then what need be done is concentrating on the
centennials,
I suggest that since Neo is "the one" that the Matrix makes a new
centennial with no limits or boundaries. Where he is as fast as he wants
to be. So Neo must reach a new level in order to beat the "gate keeper"
and open one of the gates to the next sequel. But the difference with
this one is he doesn't inhabit any bodies, he is just there as himself
and that's why he is so powerful.
This is just a suggestion but I would expect the computers to
fight back in such away, especially if they can't hurt Neo with the
other centennials programs.

the prequel examines the time before the arrival of Neo into
'awareness'. Where did
the awakeners come from? The time that passed, the "how" of the Matrix.
The idea
that a certain number of humans saw the rise of the machine culture and
planted the
seeds which would lead to its eventual destruction. The story would
trace the events
that culminate with the machines destroying (too late!) the human
headquarters that
has just implanted the program which will cause (some) humans to
awake... perhaps a
good close is naked and wet Morpheus coming out of the Matrix... like
10.000 years
later....

Now that Neo has proven himself to
be the "Chosen One", he
must liberate the rest of the world from their cyber-sleep and
life as human storage cells for the Matrix. Anyway, Neo,
Trinity, and Morpheus' next move would be to rally all of the
rebel troops they can find to launch an all out assault on the
Matrix.
To do this they will need to locate the Hidden City
at the Center of the Earth. If the Matrix in essentially a
computer program, then there must be some kind of Operating
System with a CPU, find that, take it out and game over, or
the more altruistic thing to do would be to harness an alternative
energy source with unlimited quantities...or better yet just
introduce a computer virus that multiples itself exponentially
everytime it is detected with attempts to be eliminated..

Okay, Agent Smith stumbles upon some
sort of time machine thing, which
turns the entire matrix back in time to the medieval ages.
Smith, now a black knight, burns down the local village and stuff like
that, taking over the castle and threatening to kill Mr. Nice King.
Neo goes into the matrix, but quickly finds he has to adapt to medieval
times after getting the heck kicked out of him by Smith.
So Neo learns how to use a sword, mace, axe and whatever else, and goes
back in, only to find that Smith's kidnapped the king
and run off to some place which nobody's heard of (Zion in disguise?
No...) and stays there hogging out on roast boar and whatnot. When Neo
finally finds him, there is a full on battle, where Smith threatens to
turn back time again, and the time machine gets smashed to pieces and
Neo beats Smith up.
This leaves the movie open for a sequel...

Since Neo has conquered the Matrix I
think it should concentrate more on
the real world. They should journey to Zion and learn more about the
history of the war. I think the entire movie should be spent in the new
world. Eventually the Sentinels find where Zion is and attack. I think
the movie would have a Terminator 1 feel...you know, where the humans
are battling the robots....that would be great

!t thought this up after seeing the
movie a little while ago, so
bear with me... I still have a slight buzz!
My idea of a good sequel would
involve Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus finding out that a small group of
human beings were at the root of this war versus the AI. They had actually
planned the whole thing long before the war itself, and are now living in a
remote area on Earth that has been preserved, sort of like a new Eden. A
motive would be that these elite humans believed that Earth was overpopulated
and needed to be cleansed. A nice twist would be that Agent Smith was
actually one of these humans, and they too had the ability to connect to the
Matrix, but with an enhanced program to improve their mental capabilities...
sort of like a T1 connection to the internet! I put this part in because Agent
Smith seemed different to me than the other agents. He was clearly able to
express emotions, which the other two stiffs lacked. I also like the idea
anotherperson here had of an "anti-christ", another human fighting to preserve
the Matrix, with abilities comparable to those of Neo. Oh man... I could go
on for days........... but I'm about to watch the movie again! See
ya...... (is that popcorn ready yet!?).
In the end, Neo and the
rest of them come to realize that the Matrix was created purposely to
enlighten humanity, not to destroy it as it seems. All the hardships
they went through was to prepare them to realize the powers humans have in
the "real" world. Maybe the AI was able to foretell what was needed to
bringthat out in humanity, so it took the neccessary steps to accomplish
that. That would be deep.

Here is my idea of a Matrix sequel.
First off, the original movie
is a great movie and because of that would be great off having no
sequels or prequels. But, on the other side, The Matrix would be great
to have as a trilogy.
In the prequel, it should show how Humans created Artificial
Intelligence and how the robots turned on them and how we destroyed the
sky, fleeing to zion. In the sequel, it should be Neo freeing mankind,
by kicking everybody's butt. Also, a good guy has to die. We have four
main characters: Neo, Trinity, Morpheus, and Tank. None of these death
sound logical, Neo is the hero, Trinity is the girl, Morpheus was
captured before, and Tank can't go into the Matrix.
So, we are faced with a problem. Who to kill. I think it should be
Trinity. But, using Neo's powers, he can bring her back to life.
That's my idea. Everybody e-mail me at delanebartoo@hotmail.com with
more ideas.

the red pill that neo took was
actually a hallucinogenic drug that made
him trip out and see all kinds of messed up sh*t
morpheus IS in fact a terrorist trying to destroy the world and the
agents are actually the good guys
once the effects of the pill wear off, neo realizes this and he must
side with the agents and battle morpheus and his crew
well, thats one of my ideas
the other one is that neo is clinically insane and this is all a dream
he has inside of his cell in the insane asylum
heres another one:
the truth is neo OD'd on some bad acid and all this is a dream
at the very end he wakes up and finds morpheus, trinity and tank by his
bed telling him to wake up, much like in "alice in wonderland"

i think the the two sequells should
show what happened before and after
this one. Not very unlike the new starwars movies. the first one would be about
the war between the humans and the robots and the last one should show
what happens after the matrix1, how they free mankind.

The Matrix is a movie that stands
great alone. One of my alltime favorites. How do you make a sequel to do justice to the
original? Not an easy task. Of course the stylish action scenes are a must, but why in the
context of the story is there a need for them? One of the strong points of the movie is
it's story, the urgency of the situation.
Now Neo is essentially invulnerable
to the Matrix and trying to change that would be an injustice. Now that he has conquered
the matrix, the machine who could possilbly threaten him in the world of the Matrix?
Although I am not christian, I have studied their religion and the themes copied in the
matrix. Neo is essentially humanity's messiah, their christ. We need an anti-christ. A
human disconnected with Neo's abilities that is loyal to the AI of the matrix. He in turn
recruits a team of his own for the Matrix, from the Matrix. Send this anti-christ type
back into the Matrix with his crew and let them battle it out.
Meanwhile Neo and the crew have
brought out and trained many, of course
without Neo's unique abilities. You have an all-out war between these factions. Being that
these are humans in not just AI entities like Agent Smith and his crew, Neo can't simple
explode them. He must fight them all, both sides using their special tricks and
techniques. Neo moves towards the final showdown with the anti-christ type leader.
This being the 2nd of a trilogy Neo must live for the 3rd, but like in the classic sense
of "Empire Strikes Back" we must be left on a down note. The Matrix needs a
victory in this movie leading to the final showdown for the 3rd movie. Another aspect to
touch on in the movie for followup in the final movie is the fact we are dealing with
aritificial intelligence. With AI, we have emotion, as witnessed in agent Smith. Each AI
program is like a separate entity. We should find a faction of AI programs that disapprove
of
the treatment of humanity. Like in any war, there traitors on both sides.

I have a pritty good sequell i think. Well in the Matrix Neo found out
that the matrix is only a computer program so in the sequels i think
that it will be like this: he will be able to move like to buildings
just to look at them an he'll be there and like as morpheus said " some
of these people are not ready to be unpluged so i think that they will
be doing a lot of things like that.

The sequel would be very short.
Opens with a large bonfire where all
copies of the movie Matrix are being burned, fades with the producers
promising to never attempt to make a movie that crappy again. Oh, one
more thing. The box office would pass out coupons so you could get a
refund for seeing the original movie.

Having just seen the Movie in the
UK (Special preview), I would think the
best option would be to have no sequel whatsoever. It is a fantastic film,
one of the best I have seen in a long time. Why risk spoiling it?
There are very few examples of a sequel doing the original film justice,no
matter where you look, either in independant or Hollywood movies. Leave it
to stand.

I think a good idea for the sequel to The
Matrix would perhaps be a
prelude, showing the events that lead to the creation of the Matrix in
the first place. The first wars between the humans and the AI, the
'scorching of the sky', and the movie ending with the appearance, or
death, of the first Messiah of the Matrix. This would help develop the
background for the movie more, without being a repeat of the first
movie, or reducing the movie to a 'action flick sequel', which has
doomed some of the best movies out there.

The real world sentinels have become more and more difficult to evade
and freeing human by human is just too dangerous. Neo, Morpheus and
Trinity decide to make an all out strike against the central AI through
the Matrix. They risk divulging a few of the codes for Zions mainframe
to lure out the AI behind the sentinels and race against time to destroy
the central AI before the rest the codes can be hacked. While Morpheus
and Trinity are resigned to the loss of human life if they succeed, Neo
must come to terms with the fact that even the Oracle must die in order
for the humans healthy enough to survive without the Matrix to live.

The setting will be during an era of chaos because Neo's attempt
to free humanity's mindset wasn't totally successful. There are
radical factions that desire the old way of life and routine they were
used to. Neo and Trinity have a son that heads one of these factions.
Age is based on an individuals inherent brainpower and not subject to
be counted in years so Neo and Trinity aren't old. Manipulated by the
AI (artificial intelligence), Neos son, Proxy, will try to destroy his
parents. Neo will destroy the AI without disintegrating his son's
existence.

Six months have passed. Neo and Trinity are
getting married.
Everything is going well until during a routine mission, Morpheus is
abducted. Trinity and Neo hack into the Matrix to save him only to find
that he has been beaten and forced to tell the agents the way to Zion.
Dying, Morpheus tells them what he knows of the agents' plans. Agent
Johnson, stronger and faster than Agent Smith, is now in charge, and
stopping him is the only hope of stopping the destruction of the only human
city left in existence.

Twenty years has passed and the Artificial Intelligence has become more
powerful and has bred a new breed of sentinels. Trinity and Morpheus are
killed whilst fighting an even more powerful generation of sentinels,
however, they are cloned as the most powerful sentinels yet. NEO must face
them both with his 18 year old son who is showing even more talent than his
father. NEO is reluctant to fight until his son is killed by Trinity (his
own mother). A final big show down and a lot of soul searching for NEO
-oh yeah!!!
Cindy Yep
Santa Cruz, California
Neo and Trinity make plans to hack into the Matrix, and start
"awakening"
Matrix people. Morpheus stays in Zion to rebuild his crew and ship and to
prepare the city for war. The Agents have since learned to shift time and
interrupt their signals so they can trap Neo and Trinity and send them back
a few years to when they have no memories of the resistance, or of
each other, but they sense something is missing...
Trinity reawakens and starts
searching for Neo. The Oracle, a renegade AI, brings them together in the past and they
begin to hack the central AI.
Despite the Oracle's warnings, Morpheus rescues them and the three take the
opportunity to shut down the mainframe. Unfortunately it was failsafed
so that millions die in their pods. They are forced to bring it back online
to save the human race. But the energy source is then weakened, and the
people of Zion led by Tank attack while defenses are down.
Meanwhile the Oracle's
"children" led by the no-spoon boy and his twin sister, who cannot be
fooled by mind games, destroy the Agents. Neo, Morpheus and Trinity now
control the Matrix to facilitate everyone's transition to their new future.

Sion, the blessed City. You have already
shown the devil, and hell now is
time to show GOD. The city of Paradise Sion, with the free souls
resurrected from the armagedon that destroyed earth when the machines in
the hands of evil controlled humans with the MATRIX.
Now you have to reveal the evil spirit in his last fight before being
cast forever, the evil one is corrupted because it is a reflection of
God created for perfection that lost Paradise by choosing NOT to serve.
The elect ones Free in time and space responding to the call of LOVE
from the reality that is GOD, learning to control the power of love for
creation in Harmony . Worlds of Light, exalted music and elaborated
Crystal Palaces, Colorful flowers and birds of exquisite design, floating

Neo and Trinity have had a
son, and he
has taken arms along side his father, posessing the same gifts as his
father...
The fight has been long, but
many poeple have been released.
Zion has expanded in the real world, and technology has been salvaged from
the AI to help defend Zion. It appears that the tide has turned and the humans
are winning. There is talk of some master plan, that if executed correctly
will bring the destruction of the AI.
But just as things are looking
good,
Neo is captured and presumably killed. It looks as if the war is over, but
Neo's son decides to carry on his fathers mission. The master plan: that
Neo was keeping a secret, was to capture the original AI (or at least the AI
that is within the Matrix) and use it against the real AI in the present
"real" world.
During this time, Neo's son
discovers that his father is
still alive, but wired into the matrix. The AI's plan was to use Neo to fight
the resistance... but Neo's son is more than his father's equal, and in a
cool showdown, Neo and his son fight to the death.
As Neo dies, the resistance
has had time to use the "fake" AI against the real one and now have control of
the Matrix. At the end Neo is saved by his son, using the power of the matrix, to re-link
his father's mind with his body, and the
resistance is now ready to begin using the matrix to free everybody....

The Matrix knowing that it cannot defeat Neo by itself launches a strike
upon the oracles building where it takes captive all of the children
(hopefuls). Once it has the children it begins the diabolical task of
reprogramming the children into a new breed of agent.
The oracle sends out a carrier pigeon to warn Neo and Morpheous.
Meanwhile Neo and Trinity are surfing through the sky in the matrix when
they are attacked by the first of the new breed of agent.
At first Neo is relaxed and
overconfident about the attack as he makes their bullets stop in midair again. But as he
turns his attention away. The bullets suddenly shoot forward again striking trinity.
The agent says "there was
no spoon" and
leaves. Leaving Neo to watch as trinity dies in his arms.
Neo leaves the matrix, just as the oracles carrier pigeon arrives on
their ship (in the form of an email).
Now that Morpheous and Neo know the sinister truth. They know that there
is only one solution. Morpheous and his crew must launch a physical attack
against the Main system housing the matrix while Neo goes back in to
distract the main AI and try and save the new children/agents.

First off, I would like to
state for the record that I really think that there should be no sequel. This movie is
great in and of itself, and could go down in history as one of the greats. Now that my
spill is out of the way...if there were to be a sequel:
DO to the HEAVY christian based themes in The Matrix (such as Faith, Believing, being
'born-again', the Messiah), I would think that it would do well to have the theme
continue. Now that the Matrix knows NEO is going to set the Human race free, it has to
counter, but how.
Just like the Pharisees in the
New Testament claimed that Jesus
was fake and a blasphemer, the Matrix could release new code instructing the 'blind'
humans that NEO is basically the 'Anti-Christ' or false prophet. Perhaps the Oracle could
be found out and killed in a public manner forcing NEO, Trinity, and Morpheus underground.
The trick would be that somehow the three, maybe others would have to hack into the center
core of what the Matrix is to release the truth. In the core, NEO and others could not
just believe that the software is not real, because the Matrix is existing and that the
power within the core software does kill.
Meanwhile, perhaps another captain of the ship has been taken captive or turned traitor,
and the codes to Zion's Mainframe are compromised. The race is: who can hack faster - NEO
or the Matrix.
Perhaps NEO could even give his life for the truth, and by releasing it the people are set
free. Trinity could have NEO's child and Morpheus could be the God Father and all could
rebuild in the wake of the final truth.
Christopher Summers
Ann Arbor, Michigan
In the Matrix, Neo struggles to accept the truth but learns at a
very rapid pace. In the end, we know he is the "messiah" and can bring
truth to everyone. He has total control over the matrix.
The sequel will be Neo's reshaping of the matrix, perhaps completely
eliminating it and bringing humans out of their cocoons. The major
problem is that not all of mankind will be willing or able to accept
this drastic change. There is only one human city, how do you convince
everyone that their life is a hoax? Cypher knew both worlds and wanted
to return to the safe, nice world the matrix provided and eliminate all
of the realness in his life.
The matrix will be reshaped. It will no longer be used to pull the
wool over everyones eyes but as a tool for progress. People will
rebuild the Earth. Neo only possesses his powers in the matrix, so if
he eliminates it he becomes a normal guy. We might follow his decision
on whether he wants to get rid of the matrix, and his power, or keep it
for his own purposes.
The fight between the machines and man isn't
over. Even though Neo "owns" the matrix, his body in the real world is
vulnerable. There are the squid like robots who could easily be told to
kill him in the real world and it could be quite interesting to see as
he has to relearn to fight and run and jump...like everyone else. His
lightning speed is gone and he has to cope with no hidden
powers...
Unless they find a way to incorporate the
matrix with reality,
making it so dreams and reality are intertwined and only he and a select
few know the truth. Why make him a computer hacker anyways? He might
use those skills plus he power to create something even more crazy and
weird.
Lonnie Shull
North Carolina
Neo, Tank and Morpheus have devised a plan that will forever defeat the AI foe.
They must download the gift from Neo and create a program that can be
uploaded to anyone. If they could do this, their power would be
infinite. But they must keep Neo alive long enough to do it. However, the AIs have
developed a new technology that allows them to send sentinel programs outside the matrix,
but only short periods and with some glitches.
The AIs capture Trinity, now the captain of her own ship of rebels. By
hacking her brain, the AI's manage to make an almost perfect clone of her. They send this
new Trinity program against Neo outside the matrix. As the battle
rages inside and outside the matrix. Neo must discover which Trinity is real and
which one is the program.
In the battle against the virtual Trinity, Neo discovers the true power
of his gift, the ability to alter the physical universe outside the matrix.
Will the gift program work and will the humans finally defeat the AIs?
I guess we
will have to wait for Matrix III
.
Brian Shapiro

In a sequel, they should discover that the 'real world' that was
portrayed was just another part of the Matrix. They will eventually come to
realize that every part of existence as a whole is linked with the Matrix. The
'nature of existence' is a bunch of choatic energy which is only
organized through the abstractive capabilities of human perception. Thus, without human
perception, the world is like a bunch of 1's and 0's on a data
disk that have to be interpreted. Through changing perception, this can be
re-interpreted in a different way. So, in this manner, everyone is part
of the 'data', and thus is in the Matrix. There should be allusions to
Plato's allegory of the cave, as they struggle to figure out what the truth is.
During the movie they should try to release some of the humans from
their pods. Many will want to go back into the pods, recognizing that life in
the Matrix as designed by the AI is no less 'real' than life outside, and
life outside isn't that great. They can't objectively call one existence more
'real' than another. Neo should wonder about whether when he 'changes
the Matrix' he just changes his perception of the Matrix, and he just
percieves other people percieving the same thing as him. Are Trinity and Morpheus there,
or are they figments of his imagination? Eventually, Neo talks
like an eccentric madman and his reality changes to a dreamlike state. The
end of the movie should show Neo with a straight jacket on in a 20th century
insane asylum.

There's a reason the "A" in
"AI" stands for artificial. Any man-made
machine may appear to look human, but any attempt at a complete clone of
thehuman mind will result in failure.
In the Matrix sequel, the weaknesses of the Matrix need to be further
developed. Now that Neo has outmatched the agents physically, the
machinesneed a new way to fight. They will try to compete inside the human
mind.
I can envision a scenario where the machines infiltrate the ranks of
Neo,Trinity, and the other freed humans. Suddenly, there's an X-files type
atmosphere where the viewer doesn't know who is good and who is evil.
Intense dialogs and mind games take center stage as the machines seem to
have matched the human thought process.
In the end, the humans discover that the computers will always be a step
behind and the theme of AI = counterfeit gives hope that someday all the
humans will be free.
Steve Munday

The movie should start with Neo, Morpheus and Trinity recruiting new
people from the Matrix to join their cause. They must overcome a couple
of agents to do this, which could be handled by Neo. Then the group
should go to the last city, and there we can see the entire resistance
effort, instead of just one ship floating around the planet. To defeat
AI, they have to attack it outside the Matrix as well as in it. After
visiting the last city, the group, led by Neo go back into the Matrix,
while on the outside we can see a new group battle robots and such to
get to the core of the Matrix, the actual supercomputer which controls
the world, and try to get into it.

TThe Matrix 1 is merely Neo's first awakening, where he becomes aware
of his> virtual abilities. In the Matrix 2, Neo's mental ability grows much
more pronounced. While in the eating dinner in the real world, Neo
finds himself bending spoons. Neo experiences a second awakening.
Trinity & Morpheus follow suit. The three find themselves battling the
machines in the real world with their minds alone. Psychic ability becomes the
power the AI machines can never manufacture.
Neo leads the team to destroy the fetus fields. Because of the
extensive destruction of the harvesters & fetus fields, the AI machine is in
jeopardy of termination. The AI selects a victim or host body to inhabit,
for it has no choice, but to battle Neo in the real world....it.
